First snowdrop in the new garden

Galanthus plicatus 'Three Ships'
The garden here is looking pretty desolate, with the unmulched surface of the new beds bashed into silt  by the rain and frost, but there are plenty of 'noses' emerging and the first snowdrop has 'popped' today, a welcome sight. It is Galanthus plicatus 'Three Ships', delayed a few weeks by the move and replanting, but soon to show a nice patch of flowers - perhaps by Christmas if the current milder weather persists.

  1. This is the 2nd snowdrop photo I've seen today from the UK. The natives haven't a hope of appearing up here in Perthshire until much later in January.

  2. I hope it doesn't stay lonely for too long John. I have a nice clump of Rainbow Farm Early in flower here.

  3. My Three Ships seems to have vanished , haven't seen it for a few years now, but Faringdon Double is just about opening, should be out properly for Christmas.

  4. It's exciting to see those first buds fatten u, and to anticipate the flowers opening. With our long, cold winter, mine won't be up until April, but I'm hoping for a better display next spring after planting more this fall.

  5. guild wars 2 gold member Killars, in this post, said "this game isn't to blame," but rather, "it's the raiding community," saying that the competition of FIFA 13 coins top-end raiders carries an "inevitable sort of flaw.
