Wilson's lucid writings on biodiversity a few years ago, and have been browsing (like a mental wildebeest) through his brilliant pastures: your post is right on! Biodiversity is the cornerstone of life itself. I like to think of gardens as a sort of laboratory where we explore ecology and biodiversity in an artistic alembic, as it were, so that we can determine how to better appreciate and protect the tattered fragments of nature that remain, and restore more in the face of still growing human population pressures.Panayoti Kelaidishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01846898350006673316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2417381781440063818.post-27223775814555988092010-12-05T12:59:46.718+00:002010-12-05T12:59:46.718+00:00Thanks for such an interesting post - there is muc...Thanks for such an interesting post - there is much food for thought hereHelen/patientgardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02164036792673009326noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2417381781440063818.post-27597408069131874902010-12-04T21:15:01.677+00:002010-12-04T21:15:01.677+00:00Paul - I've not heard anything further about i...Paul - I've not heard anything further about it since the first news of its success. I would like to know if you have any news of the success of the Japanese Knotweed Psyllid introduction program begun in the UK this year. Perhaps it is too early to tell. I am anxious to see an end to this pest plant here in the US and would welcome any news.

Thank you,

Paul BowdenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
